darkartsdabblerIn this AU, the events of Thor:Ragnarok and the opening of Infinity War do happen, with one significant change: when Thor collapses over the body of his brother, awaiting the blast that will destroy the ship, weeping openly, there's a familiar voice:
Yes, the version of Loki that Thanos cruelly strangled? A very, very good replica. Loki's spent a long time perfecting them, after all. A bit more so following his... 'failure' in the Midgard mission. He had thought it might come in useful someday, and honestly Thor get up, we don't have any time...
And then of course the ship is blasted to pieces.
So they end up on the Milano, meeting the Guardians of the Galaxy. Loki actually knows Nebula and Gamora, and that's a rather awkward set of introductions to make. However, they are willing to help them get the weapon they need and eventually Loki and Thor - with Rocket and Groot - make it back to Wakanda to join in the battle
(Look, Loki is not a do-gooder, nor is he a hero. But he hates Thanos, and the man did try to torture his brother which only he's allowed to do. He'll help Thor out here. Just Thor, the rest of the Avengers can bugger off. It's only that his brother would whine so much if he didn't give the occasional save.)
However, with Thanos successful in making the snap, Loki is forced to watch in horror as his brother fades into dust.
Thanos will die for that.
